At componence I am responsible for the creation and adjusting the concept to develop a social media Flash/Flex AIR Desktop application. The aim of this software is to connect people more closely!

Fast-Food Market Research at Stuttgart Media University (German)

Within this big study paper we are investigating the fast-food fish market in Germany to develop a new fast-food fish product.

Extented WordPress Flowplayer Plugin with captions editor

Within the “IT-Workshop” we started to program a plugin which merges the Flowplayer with the WordPress Blogging System. Comparing to other existing plugins, this plugin uses the WordPress media database as source for the videos. Further there will be another plugin which allows the user to add XHTML and CSS formatted captions to the uploaded video file.

Workflows in Digital Signage / Digital TV :: ffmpeg encoding

The task in this project was to set up a video encoding server with ffmpeg and necessary h.264 codecs on linux. This project also included to test different video encoding settings. The greatest sucess was the compression of a h.264 video trailer with about 150 MB to an ffmpeg compressed h.264 to almost 65 MB.

Streaming Media :: Video DJ Portal (German)

This project was about to create a platform for DJ’s in the Region of Stuttgart to present their selves with a kind of profile including an additional video while spinning up for about 1 hour. As the project manager I led 15 fellow students to make videos, writing texts. Futher I was responsible for the video workflow and encoding.

Ideas of Projects:

People are enabled to complain about everything (e.g. companies, product names) in the whole wide world with only one keyword.

  • The more the same keyword appears, the bigger is it displayed.
  • The user is also allowed to search for complaints. Once the keyword reaches a certain level, the complaints could be described more in detail.
  • The aim of this portal could call the attention of companies to improve their products and services.

Travel planner mashup

You got somewhere an invitation to a different city. It could be facebook, linkedin, via twitter or even personal. So now imaging, the day X comes and you want to go an a trip. You have planned all your trip and it was fun. But at the moment you come home, you start to remember, that somehow – yes, you forget of that invitation, because those traveling information weren’t set up in the right place. So fortunately there is just an application which keep all the important information together and helps you by planning your trip. You can easily just drop a link of a social community and set up on Google Earth, where this person stays. The next time you plan a trip you can see all your friends – and hopefully, now you are able to meet them.

Why not recording a sound of opening a bottle of sparking water to produce music out of? Maybe sounds like sea. Yes, we are not sure.
